I’ve had children attend the centre since 2022 but we recently made the difficult decision to withdraw our children from this centre after ongoing safety concerns were repeatedly raised but not adequately addressed by management. Unfortunately, these concerns appeared to fall on deaf ears, and children were hurt due to a lack of timely action. The centre also shows a heavy reliance on agency staff which impacts the children’s continuity of care that is so important for their development, comfort, and sense of security. That said, there are positives worth acknowledging like the permanent educators who remain at the centre are genuinely caring and dedicated. Our children formed meaningful connections with them, and it was clear they were doing their best in a challenging environment. Unfortunately a lot have left and it looks like more will continue to leave. However, despite the efforts of the permanent staff, our confidence in the centre’s management (mainly the centre director and area manager) was ultimately fractured due to their inability to respond appropriately to safety concerns which in turn caused our child to be assaulted, they were aware of an alarming amount of incidents which continued to escalate over a period of 7 months and failed to act. If you do have issues prepare for longwinded responses that don’t address the subject matter. For us, the safety and wellbeing of all children must always come first, which is why we felt we had no choice but to remove our children from the centre’s care. Please do your due diligence before picking a centre, you can tell which reviews have been tailored to what the centre wants and that’s fine but you can’t fake the NQS ratings, where the centre still isn’t meeting the STANDARD.
