Thank you for expressing your interest in Waverley Family Day Care.

Waverley Council (Waverley Family Day Care) is licensed by the Department of Education and Communities to register educators into our scheme.

We currently have 30 educators who are able to care for up to 4 children in the educator’s home.

All of our educators must undergo the same training and police checks as any person working in childcare; and any areas in their homes that are accessible to the children must adhere to the same regulations and policies as any childcare centre. Any part of our educator’s businesses that pertain to childcare must strictly adhere regulations set down by DEC and policies from Waverley FDC scheme .Essentially our educators are self employed and running their own businesses. They set their own hours of operation, fees and charges. Waverley Family Day Care is “approved” care which means you can claim benefits from the Medicare/Centrelink/Department of Human Services if you are entitled to any benefits such as the Child Care Subsidy (CCS).

It is impossible to tell when a vacancy will arise in our service and placement to that vacancy is dependent on many variables such as the location of the vacancy and the age of the child that our educator can accept as generally our educators can only care for one child under 12 months each day. When an educator advises us that they have a vacancy, we search our waiting lists for a family who would be interested in that vacancy. We will notify the family of the vacancy and give out the educator’s contact details at this stage.

Parents need to make contact with that educator, and get back to us regarding your intention with this placement.

We accept applications for our waiting list from birth. Applications will not be accepted before your child has been born.

There is a $30.00 non refundable application fee to apply. Please post the application with cheque payment to us at the address below, or you can drop in. We can also accept credit card payments Visa or MasterCard.
