St John's Child Care Centre

At St John's Child Care Centre, we support families with education and care for their children, including a preschool program. We are open long hours for children from birth to five years.

We value every child as an individual with a unique personality, interests, and needs, so we can best help them unlock and achieve their potential while enjoying their time in our care. 

Babies and toddlers: safe, nurturing and reassuring

Our care-based approach to babies and toddlers helps establish the building blocks for learning using play, singing, touch, and reading to encourage their communication, physical development, and social and emotional skills.  

Along with feeding, sleeping, and changing time, these reassuring interactions and routines provide important learning experiences that nurture the cognitive development, communication, and social skills that meaningfully contribute to your child’s well-being, character, and future achievement.  

Preschool program: developing a love of learning  

Through open-ended play and structured activities, our preschool program teaches your child the essential skill of learning that will meaningfully help them in their transition to ‘big school’, and far beyond.  

We involve your child in tailoring their own learning experience with a stimulus that’s relevant to their interests, abilities, ideas, and personality. By inspiring their creativity and self-expression, we pave the way for ongoing literacy, numeracy, problem-solving, and language development.  

The positive, rewarding interactions with our staff and other children enhance the social and communication skills that will evolve them into confident, thoughtful, and well-rounded individuals.
