At Sparrow Early Learning Carrum Downs, we are passionate about creating a place where our children feel valued and respected. Our learning environment is a happy and fun place for our children and families to be a part of and most importantly, a home away from home. At Sparrow Carrum Downs we embrace the image of the child as a creative, confident and active learner. Our qualified, Early Childhood Educators use the Early Years Framework as a guide which is intended to support curriculum decision making to extend and enrich children’s learning from birth to five years and through the transition to school.

We aim to provide programs that are fun, educational, inclusive and reflective. Inspired by Reggio Emilia philosophy and guided by the Early Years Learning Framework, our educators provide a holistic, play-based curriculum with a strong emphasis on nature and outdoor learning experiences. We celebrate each child as unique and our dedicated educators focus programming on meeting the individual needs and interests of each child.

Our Studios promote a natural environment which provides opportunities to teach children about caring for the world in which we live including:

• Sandpits for sensory, symbolic and physical play
• Plants to encourage birds, butterflies and other insects
• Natural play spaces outdoors to encourage risk taking, fine motor development and imaginative play
• Water play areas for sensory play
• Trees which provide shade.
