Scribbles & Giggles Childcare Centre - South Granville

Don't believe all the 5 star reviews you read. If anything give it a short trial only and see for yourself. Our personal experiences started off fine when first starting because we had no issues early in. Problem is, its how difficulties and unexpected situations are handled which show how professional a business is. Our son had multiple incidents with minor bumps and bruises which is normal for little active kids, however the centre themselves did not report most of them but we let it go as it wasn't anything major at the time however still very unprofessional of them. Moving along with the bigger incidents it was reported late, despite the bruising on my sons eye quite swollen for a while which shows it couldn't have been recent. Again going back to the inattentive and unprofessional duty of care of this centre. We even asked them to review the centre cams to validate the exact events and timing of the incident which they agreed to but never heard anything back regarding an outcome. Son was too scared and traumatised to go back so we gave him around a week off at home. The centre advised they will be more attentive when he returns and it tooks us a lot of time and effort convincing our son to return. We promised we'd reward him with zoo visits, aquarium visits etc than he finally agreed to step back in. Same day as he just entered had another minor incident. Day 2 after he came back, i came to see him huddled by himself scared behind a bookshelf with no carer in sight looking at him or even trying to comfort him. That was the last straw as our sons mental health and safety is the 1st priority and this centre was not getting any more chances. We withdrew him from the centre and advised we were not coming back! We did not recieve a single communication attempt from the centre or office until a week later. Office called and we advised the situation and he would not be returning. Despite all the issues they could still not provide a good will gesture and insisted we pay for the final 2 weeks regardless despite the fact our son was too scared to go and even insisting he had to come on the last day even if for 30 minutes just to validate the centrelink CCS payments. Last day I took him in and he just sat on my lap too scared to go anywhere. 30 mins up and we were gone. Have since, by chance run into a former staff member of Scribbles & Giggles who has left and confirmed they left for the same reasons we did. Basically a grossly run and incompetant child care centre run by lacklustre management. If you are sending your child here I'd strongly recommend a trial and wait til there's any sort of incident to see how they handle it before you decide if this is where you want your childs learning years to be spent!
