Pachamama Activity Centre

Pachamama is an amazing place... a bit of magic for kids and adults alike. I've been working as a gardener there for the past 6 months and it has been a great experience. The vision and passion behind the centre is really unique and you can see the effect it has on the kids who love being part of the community. They are encouraged to grow, learn and participate in a safe and supportive environment with educators who really care about bringing their best to the space. What's amazing to see for me as a gardener is the emphasis Pachamama has on engagement with nature... the children can't wait to get outside everyday and explore. They love feeding the chickens and the parrots, and they are keen to get in the garden with me looking after the plants. They are learning to love their local place, and take ownership in caring for it. I've seen how the children not only form great relationships with each other and the educators, but also the environment around them. It's a beautiful place with amazing trees, wildlife and sculptures... so much thought and care has been put into the environment and you can see how much this impacts both the staff and the children positively. I myself have felt my mental health improve working in the space. Over the past six months I've seen first hand how much effort, love and care the staff put into what they do... and I would recommend Pachamama to anyone in the area looking for a community for their kids.
