One Tree Defence Childcare Unit Kids Brigade

I would strongly caution any parent considering Kids Brigade Durack. My experience with this centre was extremely disappointing and left me with serious concerns about the level of care, supervision, and professionalism provided. From early on, it became clear that standards were not what they should be in a setting responsible for young children. Basic care and hygiene were a major concern. There were repeated issues with nappies not being changed appropriately and staff appearing inattentive or disengaged. Rather than being proactive, concerns seemed to be brushed aside, giving the impression that staff routinely turned a blind eye to problems that should have been taken seriously. My child was involved in multiple incidents where they were hurt and picked on by other children, particularly in the N2 room. These situations were poorly managed, with little evidence of intervention, monitoring, or follow-up from the room leader. Allowing this behaviour to continue created an unsafe and distressing environment for children. The older lady in the room has no clue how to look after anyones child, i hope she doesnt have any. There were also clear issues around staff capability and training. The N1 room leader appeared untrained and unprepared for the responsibilities of the role, raising serious concerns about staff qualifications and whether appropriate oversight is in place. Parents should be confident that educators are competent and supported — that confidence was not present here. Overall leadership at Kids Brigade Durack felt weak and disengaged. Management appeared reactive rather than proactive and disconnected from what was happening day-to-day within the rooms. Combined with poor supervision and unresolved issues, this created a culture that felt careless and dismissive of genuine concerns. I would not recommend this centre to any parent who values safety, accountability, and proper care for their child.
