Montessori Beginnings Brunswick

M’y daughter was a Montessori Beginnings in Brunswick 1 day a week for a few months and then full time once I stayed work. The carers were lovely especially Barsha. I ended up leaving for the following reasons. I am an SMBC (solo mother by choice) with very little support so I need an understanding and compassionate daycare. 1- my daughter was getting very sick, very often when she was there which I know this is also normal, but it was because they weren’t catering to her needs at all. 2- my daughter was only 11months and still needed 2 sleeps a day- they had staff roster issues and she wasn’t getting enough sleep. As a consequence this was effecting her night sleeps and I had to go to sleep school to fix this pattern- they told me she was a high sleep need child and needed two sleeps. MB were unable to cater to this fundemental need. Or you fit their mould or you don’t. 2- they have very long notification period- most other child care centres offer 2 weeks. I kindly asked them to wave the 4 week notification period on the basis that they couldn’t look after my child’s sleep needs- and they also knew that I am single mother who is back at work/ there was no negotiation, no care, no understanding from the managers at MB. I also was never able to reach the top manager on the company. 3- because they wouldn’t wave the notification period- they kept taking the CCS from Centrelink and I had to pay my new childcare centre full price for 4 weeks! 4- because of their lack on understanding, I also lost 31 days of absences from Centrelink. I even asked them to wave the period by 2 weeks and no compromised was made at any time. Montessori way is meant to be based on the child’s needs- they don’t follow this at all. Furthermore my child always came back dirty, they didn’t change her clothing during the day, my new childcare always does this, and they have been a lot more lenient and understanding. Maybe MB is better for older kids from 2 years of age but I really wouldn't recommended it based on poor management.
