Learn and Grow Family Day Care

Learn and Grow Family Day Care provides a child-centred education and care program where children are supported to learn, play, and explore in a nurturing home environment based in Mount Duneed.

I believe that children thrive when they are encouraged to be independent and supported in their own unique experience. Every child learns differently, bringing their own interests and ways of understanding the world. By taking the time to get to know each child, I provide opportunities that build on their strengths while supporting them through new challenges.

I value a balance between planned learning experiences and child-led play. While intentional activities help children develop new skills and knowledge, free play gives them the freedom to explore ideas, solve problems, and learn through their own discoveries. I believe some of the most meaningful learning happens when children are genuinely interested and engaged in what they are doing.

My goal is to create an environment where children feel comfortable trying new things, making choices, and developing confidence in their abilities. By providing encouragement and support, I aim to foster a love of learning that extends beyond their time in care and helps them become capable, independent learners.

I also embrace elements of a slow living approach, valuing the opportunity for children to slow down, become immersed in experiences and engage with the world around them in meaningful ways. Through activities such as gardening, baking, creating and participating in everyday tasks, children develop practical skills while building confidence and independence. Having time to explore, practise, and revisit real-world experiences supports deeper learning and allows children to gain a genuine sense of achievement.
