Insight Early Learning Port Coogee

Insight Early Learning Port Coogee is a new, modern, two-storey child care centre that is committed to sustainability. It enjoys a sea breeze as it is located just metres from the marina and the beach, where the children enjoy their Beach Kinder excursions.

Children from 6 weeks of age up to 5 years old are cared for by educators who understand the value of strong relationships with families. The centre opened in 2020 and operates from 6.30 am - 6.00 pm 52 weeks of the year, with dedicated parking spots for parents.

The centre aims to let the children play outside as much as possible. The spacious all-ages playground was designed by a landscape architect and includes slides, a boat, a climbing structure, pirates lookout and a ‘wave’ feature for the younger babies, sandpits, mud kitchen, outdoor herb garden and water play area.

The centre’s culturally diverse menu was designed by a nutritionist and follows the Australian Nutritional dietary guidelines. Chef Sandra takes a very active role in keeping menus current,  nutritious and delicious for the children.  The parents love getting her recipes to duplicate at home and the children love having sessions with her to learn about new foods. 

The meals are served ‘family style’ where children are encouraged to serve themselves and one another from a few communal bowls placed on their table. This ritual is an important part of developing social skills and allowing the children to grow as friends.

After the meal, older children will clear their plates, sorting the scraps to use for compost or to feed the chickens. Some of the children’s favourite meals include Thai green chicken curry, honey soy fish noodle stir-fry, and sticky lamb maple sausages and green beans.
