Insight Early Learning - Burwood Brickworks

Insight Early Learning Burwood Brickworks is a new, architecturally designed child care centre that is committed to sustainability. It is located within the Burwood Brickworks shopping centre, aiming to be the most sustainable shopping centre in the world.

Children from 6 weeks up to 5 years old are cared for by educators who understand the value of strong relationships with families. The centre opened in 2020 and operates from 6.30 am - 6.30 pm 52 weeks of the year, with dedicated parking spots for parents right at the door. 

Outside, the fun adventure playground includes cubby houses, teepees, a replica water well, slides, sandpits, and veggie gardens. The children enjoy lots of extra-curricular activities such as music, dance and excursions.

The centre’s culturally diverse menu was designed within the Australian Nutritional dietary guidelines. Our centre chef, Phil, usually has a bunch of fresh muffins and some fruit for parents to start their working day. He has also been instrumental in starting the centre’s vegetable garden and getting the children involved in watering and looking after the food they will one day eat.

The meals are served ‘family style’ where children are encouraged to serve themselves and one another from a few communal bowls placed on their table. This ritual is an important part of developing social skills and allowing the children to grow as friends. After the meal, older children will clear their plates, putting the leftovers into a sustainability bucket that is then taken down to the Brickworks compost facility.
