About Guardian Childcare & Education Mulgrave
Welcome to Guardian Childcare & Education Mulgrave, formerly Platypus Junction Mulgrave. Conveniently situated in Nexus Business Park, our childcare centre at Mulgrave is generously spread across two levels. It has five separate age grouped rooms from babies’ nursery through to 4-year-old kindergarten. Each room features its own outdoor space and large windows for ample light and views to the surrounding neighbourhood.
Our long day care in Mulgrave is ideally located for families in surrounding suburbs near Mulgrave, Notting Hill, Clayton and Oakleigh East.
In our award-winning rooftop garden space, children can interact with nature in an urban environment – including growing their own edible plants, tending to the garden, playing in the sand pit, and enjoying water-play with hand-pumps and totem poles that spray a water mist.
Our Mulgrave childcare centre offers:

The Victorian Government offers funding to provide families up to 15 hours of Free Kindergarten a week, in addition to the Childcare Subsidy. The funding offsets the fees for three and four-year-old children that are part of the centre’s long day care Kindergarten program. Families will save up to $2,101 a year for children aged three-years-old and above in eligible long day cares in 2025.

Prior to enrolling my child at Guardian two years ago, the centre has lots of natural light and plenty of room for children to explore or play. The rooms and common areas are always clean and tidy. The centre manager JESSICA is very patient and responsible. she made me to feel safe. That communication from the room educators is sufficient and on time. The forefront ladies (Danielle, and Lavender) are very friendly and helpful. The educators are also very approachable, accommodating and compassionate. Another thing that I appreciate about this centre is their low turnover rate on staff. This is an important factor as children (my kids at least) tends to feel safe and secure amongst familiar faces. Always have feedback from the educators about my kid's progress in the centre and some suggestions for us to help them to improve. My kids was reluctant to join group plays. The educators here always encourage them to join in. Now they can join the group and has more fun than before. Three of my kids currently attends daycare here and I do not regret this decision at all. I would highly recommend to parents. Love to see my all baby's smiling face when picking them up and listening to them about the fun day in the centre.

The team at this center are dedicated to caring for children. I've heard several stories about the amazing commitment of the center's staff and how efficient the management team is . The group is dedicated and very supportive . Their quality of care and interest in the well-being of the children is unmatched. The members often go above and beyond, even staying beyond their work hours to resolve any concerns or issues, ensuring every child feels safe, loved, and supported.

Thank you Mulgrave educators and management team(Jess and Dani) for always welcoming us with a smile and asking how my day was. Our experience in the 4-year-old kinder room has been nothing short of wonderful. Lavender and Cindy are consistently patient and dedicated, taking the time to communicate with us regularly about our son’s progress. The curriculum strikes a perfect balance between educational enrichment and creative exploration, which has greatly contributed to our son’s development and happiness. We couldn’t be happier with the nurturing environment you provide.
