About Guardian Childcare & Education Collins Street

At Guardian Childcare & Education Collins Street, the educators create a nurturing and stimulating environment, catering to children aged from 6 weeks to 6 years. Our centre is a place where children thrive – and families say it’s the best childcare in the heart of the Melbourne CBD!

Proud winner of the Family Choice Award 2026. As determined by our existing families rating their experience of our Centre via Family Satisfaction Survey and independent Google Reviews.

Families tell us our To BE Me learning program gives them real confidence – it’s a breakthrough in how they see their child learn. Our Development Pathways provide a new way of understanding how your child’s growth, curiosity, and confidence is developing.

The Victorian Government offers funding to provide families up to 15 hours of Free Kindergarten a week, in addition to the Childcare Subsidy. The funding offsets the fees for three and four-year-old children that are part of the centre’s long day care Kindergarten program. Families will save up to $2,101 a year for children aged three-years-old and above in eligible long day cares in 2026.

Our nurturing Nursery spaces are designed to help babies settle quickly, giving families comfort and confidence. Our Baby Ambassador will get to know your child’s personality, preferences and routines.

By focusing on Nutrition for Life, Guardian gives families peace of mind, knowing their children are developing habits that can set them up for a future of exposure to different foods, good eating patterns and healthy eating. Our qualified cook / chef provides 5 healthy foods every day from our in-house kitchen.

Safety and wellbeing are our highest priority, giving families peace of mind in the safe childcare we provide.

I really enjoyed my placement at this center. The staff are very kind and always ready to help. I learned a lot about caring for children and how to plan fun activities. The teachers explained everything clearly and guided me well. The children are lovely and it was great to spend time with them. I felt very comfortable and supported during my placement. I also learned new skills that will help me in my future career. Overall, it was a very positive and happy experience. I would highly recommend this center for anyone doing placement training.
