About Great Beginnings Atherton Long Daycare and Kindergarten
Welcome to Great Beginnings Atherton. We're ideally located for families in Atjerton, Mareeba, Tolga, Yungaburra and Walkamin.
Our Long Daycare and Kindergarten Centre provides early education and care for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years.
At Great Beginnings Atherton, we provide convenient, full care coverage from 9hr, 10hr or full days, 5 days per week, including school holidays.
Our dedicated team of Teachers and Educators provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring learning environment - where your child can thrive, and be their wonderful self, every day.
Getting school ready? We offer the 4-year-old Government-approved Kindergarten program that helps ensure your child has a successful transition to formal schooling.
We offer a great variety of learning experiences at Great Beginnings Atherton including:
- Sustainability Program: Helps children develop and understand the importance of embedding sustainable practices into everyday life. Children learn about recycling, conserving water, growing food and the importance of protecting our planet.
- Community Engagement Program: Encourages children to interact with and discover their local community. We often have visits from community services, and we go out on adventures to teach the children about their local environment.
- Sports Program: Allows the children to be active and learn about different sports and movements.
- Music & Movement Program: Designed to develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory, and concentration. Children learn to appreciate and develop an understanding of music - and of course, have fun.

My son absolutely loves kindy. the staff are fantastic and have really helped him come out of his shell and he is learning and thriving ready for big kid school next year

I would definitely recommend this daycare ! As they say Water flows down hill and its evident in the staff and the ladies in the office they are so welcoming and caring and always got the children's best interest at heart ❤️ and children have fun and learn at the same time 😀 so thankyou team !

At first I was dredding sending my little fella to daycare and returning to work! But he absolutley loves it, big smiles when we pull in the driveway. The educators love what they do and it shows. Parents receive multiple updates throughout the day from nappy changes to the meals provided to sleep times and best of all photos of daily activities! Highly recommended!
