Hi Bella Yu, the statements made in this review do not accurately reflect the practices, environment, or care provided within our centre. We understand that transitioning between two early learning services, alongside changes to attendance routines, can sometimes be challenging for young children while they are still building relationships and adjusting to a new environment. During this time, our educators and staff work closely with families to support a child’s wellbeing, confidence, communication, and independence within the room environment. At no stage has a child been labelled or treated differently. Any discussions between educators regarding speech, language, or developmental support were based on information shared directly by the family and were approached in the context of providing appropriate support and inclusive care for a child’s early learning journey. Collaborative discussions between educators regarding children’s needs and development are a standard and important part of providing high quality care. We would like to clarify that respectful and supportive interactions with children are an expectation of all educators and staff at our centre. There have been no reports or incidents of educators yelling at children. The biting incident referenced was communicated professionally to the family as part of normal duty of care and behaviour support practices. Supporting children through behaviours such as biting is a common part of early childhood education and is managed calmly and respectfully. The description of the physical environment does not reflect our centre set-up. Our learning environments are designed to be open, welcoming, and well supervised, and communication between educators during arrivals, departures, and transitions is a normal part of maintaining children’s safety and wellbeing throughout the day.
