Giraffe Early Learning Centre

At Giraffe Early learning Centre your child’s sense of belonging and safety is at the heart of our philosophy. We offer a generous transition period for you and your child where you can visit our centre up to 3 weeks prior to your official start date. We are a very multicultural centre and offer an exciting program for children whereby children are the focus point of their own learning. Our transition to school program is integrated into our daily practice and aims to equip children with valuable life skills. We are fully air conditioned and prepare fresh meals daily in our centre.

The fully trained inhouse chef prepares all meals and snacks from scratch using fresh ingredients. With a varied seasonal menu based on the guidelines from Nutrition NSW and Munch & Move, the food is designed to encourage children to try new flavours. Children enjoy weekly cooking demonstrations with the educators, and they make the most of the opportunity to talk with the children about healthy eating and nutrition. The children learn self-help skills such as serving themselves food to help them learn when they have had enough. Some of their favourite meals include Spaghetti Bolognese and Vegetable Casserole for lunch, and Vegemite scrolls or cheese and crackers for afternoon tea.

• Language program: children learn Portugese and Mandarin from native speakers.

• Cooking program: children enjoy cooking experiences each week with the educators in each room.

• Outdoor fun days: water play and other outdoor fun with the centre’s jumping castles.

• Incursions: special guests come to the centre, such as Kinder Farm, Science and Indigenous education experiences.

• Gross motor skills program: children learn from a fundamental movement skills program to support and develop their gross motor skills.
