Today, my daughter graduated after spending two beautiful years at Eastwood Blessings, and writing this review is incredibly emotional for me. It feels impossible to fully put into words just how much this centre has meant to our family, but I hope this gives some sense of our gratitude.
We came to Eastwood Blessings after a very different childcare experience, one that felt large, impersonal, and industrial. From the moment we stepped into Eastwood Blessings, we knew we had found something special. It felt like a home. A cosy, wooden-floored cottage with a large outdoor space where children are truly seen as individuals, where they are safe to explore, create, and simply be children. Even something as small as the smell stood out. There was no unpleasant “childcare” smell, just a clean, warm, comforting space. As a parent who notices these things, it mattered more than I can explain.
We enrolled our daughter shortly after a change in management, and over the years we witnessed thoughtful, meaningful improvements to both the physical environment and the learning programs. Sylvia, the director of the centre, is clearly an exceptional educator who genuinely understands children. Every change felt intentional and guided by what was best for the children. One moment that stands out for me is when my daughter learned to transition from nappies to using the toilet independently. It was not rushed or forced. It was supported with patience, encouragement, and dignity. Small things, like the introduction of uniforms and bags, gave my daughter such a strong sense of belonging and pride in being part of the Eastwood Blessings family. She still talks about special days like the dental check-up and photo shoot with so much excitement.
What truly sets Eastwood Blessings apart is the quality of educators. The fact that there was minimal staff turnover throughout my daughter’s entire enrolment is almost unheard of today and speaks volumes about the culture of the centre. As a teacher myself, I know that children thrive when educators feel valued, supported, and happy, and it shows here every single day.
Cayla was the calm, reliable backbone of communication, always organised, thoughtful, and incredibly responsive. Andrhea greeted my daughter every morning with the same warm, reassuring smile, no matter the weather or how the day began. She knew my child so well and always shared observations that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. Jasmine cared for my daughter with tenderness and love, as though she were her own, comforting her, helping her, and always making her feel safe. Lilliana’s warmth and big smile brought joy to the children as well. Even on mornings when my daughter struggled to separate from me, I knew that she would be okay the moment she was in their arms.
Eastwood Blessings gave my daughter so much more than early learning. She learned her alphabet and how to write her name, but she also learned how to dance, sing, play, create, and express herself freely. She learned how to navigate friendships, respect others, and manage big emotions in a safe and nurturing environment. Watching her confidence grow was one of the greatest gifts as a parent. Through the daily updates on the app, with beautifully written summaries and thoughtfully captured photos, I felt connected to her days and reassured that she was happy, engaged, and thriving.
The centre’s extended hours and year-round availability were a genuine lifeline for our family. They removed so much stress and allowed us to balance work and parenting with peace of mind, knowing our daughter was not just cared for, but truly loved.
Leaving Eastwood Blessings feels like leaving family. We will carry immense gratitude for the role this centre has played in shaping our daughter’s early years and laying a strong foundation for her future. Thank you will never feel like enough.
