C&K Robinson Road Childcare Centre

My son attended this childcare center sometime ago but I wanted to share my experience. I am hoping things have improved since then. Straight away, the center seemed to be short staffed. On our first day, we were forced to wait in the car park for 20 mins on a 30+ degree day as their door buzzer was not working. Upon entering, my son was taken to the wrong room which was an honest mix up but added to the anxiety of his first day and his mood went downhill from there. My son was really upset when I left and I was feeling anxious as well given the rough start. I phoned the center and asked how he was doing and to my surprise was told immediately that he was fine. No issues. I found this hard to believe given he was so upset when I left (had to tear myself away from him) and then asked if it would be ok if they sent me a photo (advertised on their website as a service) to put my mind at ease. The center manager refused stating that the staff don't have time to run around taking photos of the kids and sending them to their parents. I can understand that, but this was day 1 and it's on your website. I just wanted some reassurance. The manager then said to me "we are going to have to take special care of you aren't we" in a condescending tone. I was honestly shocked and couldn't believe I was spoken to like this. Upon picking up my son, he was visibly upset and cried all the way home in the car. I later found out he had not eaten anything and slept most of the day due to being "worn out". On day 2 ,I asked a different member how he had been and was told he was doing fine, no issues whatsoever. At that point I pulled him out as I had lost trust with the staff and didn't want to put him through more stress. I understand every child is different when it comes to attachment etc but don't dismiss my concerns, lie and speak to me like my opinion is worth nothing. This was a few years ago now so I am hoping things have improved since then. Felt like I should give my two cents here as I have been on the fence about it for a while.

We had our son at C&K Robinson Road for 2 years and overall we were really disappointed with this centre. We would not recommend. Our son entered prep this year and he was behind as he had learnt very little in his kindergarten class. We have sent our daughter to another centre and are much happier.
