Box Hill North Primary Kindergarten

My daughter goes to 3yo kinder program and enjoys herself very much. The safe and welcoming environment created by the educators has helped my daughter transitioned easily into her first year of kinder. She particularly enjoys the various open- and close-ended resources / learning stations prepared by the educators. New materials (indoor and outdoor) are introduced from time to time based on children's interests and developmental stages. I love the holistic educational approach to teaching where learning is child-led and educators nurture the interests and skills of the children through observing and responding to their needs and interests. Children also develop a sense of identity through exploring concepts such as personal bubbles, emotion regulations, body safety etc. They learn to collaborate and work together with others to create, build or make something together through the guidance of educators. Learning is fun too when they get to make pizzas, pumpkin soup and banana cakes in class and share the joy of eating together. Parents are especially welcome to assist in class, to share a skill or lead an activity in class. There are also opportunities for children to be engaged in the community through simple acts of service such as donating toys, hygiene products and books to help a cause. Children's learning is also enhanced through occasional incursions and celebrations such as Harmony Day, Mother's/Father's Day etc. Communication and correspondence with the educators and staff is easy as we can always approach them to have a chat whenever there is any questions or concerns. Parents also learn about children's learning and receive updates from kindergarten through the Storypark app. I am grateful for all the love and effort the team has put into creating such a wholesome learning experience for my daughter and all other children.
