Bagdad Education and Care

We are an AWARD WINNING Long Day Care Centre having won the Little Scientist Early Years Award for Tasmania in 2018, 2020 and 2022 offering inquiry led projects and programs to support children's interests in STEM based experiences. As a Nature Play centre we love to visit the bush at Chauncy Vale in our 'exploration bus' to connect with our community, explore nature and learn about sustainability and culture.

We are a small 16 place family operated mixed age service, which makes us sibling friendly and very family oriented. Our philosophy is about building partnerships with families and nurturing relationships with children to support them to find their uniqueness and gifts and develop their emerging interests and personalities. We have a fun play based educational program with modern and natural resources but focus on recycled loose parts play to develop creativity, imagination and thinking for children aged from 6 weeks to 5years old. We offer full day and casual bookings subject to availability.

Our team is led by an Early Childhood Teacher and a passionate team of educators, most with Diploma level qualifications. All collaborate to guide children towards their developmental goals and the five learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework, underpinned by the National Quality Standards. The Reggio Emillia and Steiner Approaches also guide our philosophy, curriculum, environment and resource decisions for children. We cater for families who prefer an intimate, calm, semi-structured, nature based environment in a modern fully functional, professional long day care centre.
