ACT Family Day Care Service

I had a very disappointing experience with this family day care service. We met the educator in person, and everything went very well. She seemed happy with us and even encouraged us to enroll our child quickly so he could start the following Monday. The next day, the director sent us all the documents and contract. As I was about to sign, I noticed a clause about paying for days that fall on public holidays. Being new to Australia, I simply asked for clarification to make sure I understood correctly. Instead of answering professionally, I was told that because I asked this question, the educator no longer wanted to take our child. I was shocked. I clearly explained that we are new to the country, that it is normal to ask questions before signing a contract, and that we are reliable and serious parents who would never cause payment issues. Despite this, they refused us at the very last minute. This left us in a very difficult situation, as we had trusted them and stopped looking for other childcare options based on their confirmation. In my opinion, this is highly unprofessional. Parents should be able to ask questions about contracts without being penalized. I would strongly advise others to be cautious.
